@chaska90: Because the mobile browsers can’t be run on the ‘reference hardware’ (the benchmark computer that WaSP uses to compare results to), the performance part of the test cannot be considered. And plus, BlackBerrys aren’t very powerful devices in terms of processing power.

will this browser be compatible with ALL Blackberry devices?

    ANDROID> ALL OTHERS

  14. IdleGod says:

Great browser, but still the horrible, horrible blackberry interface. Seriously, a mouse? Really?

  15. mdrejhon says:

@bckush08: Check my 75 WPM BlackBerry video in my youtube channel.
Note: I have iPod Touch too. But don’t knock BlackBerry.

  16. mdrejhon says:

Although I’m inclined to suggest HTML5 will be here sooner, Microsoft remains probably the stumbling block. It’s really only final when it’s included in 99% of operating systems — i.e. including Internet Explorer.

  17. bckush08 says:

    IPHONE> BLACKBERRY

  18. mdrejhon says:

Also, “LinkTest Failed!” shows up too.

  19. mdrejhon says:

First of all, test #68/69 seems to be known to have major problems. Wait 30 seconds at test #68 for the test to skip. Plus, RIM has been known to use different versions of the web browser in different OS versions, including, apparently, reverts of certain features that may have been found buggy.

I can take a photo. Just google ‘Mark Rejhon BlackBerry’ and fire me an email.

  20. chamanbuga says:

Hm I wasn’t aware of that. It seems Apple and Googles almost cult like cheers for HTML5 has a ulterior motive. Hahaha thanks for bringing this to light. I’ll read up more about this before I make up my mind.

  21. snagayasu says:

    looks great! can’t wait!

    @chamanbuga

You’re forgetting that HTML5 is still roughly 5 years away before being fully finalized! Lots more work is required but it’ll be implemented in webkit as time goes on. Core founders and developers of HTML5 are from Apple & Google.

  23. Jaggabone says:

@mdrejhon; not sure what firmware your running but on my Telus unlocked 9700 with 5.0.0.423 I get to 69/100 for Acid3 with LinkTest Failed! So not your Bold 9700 doesn’t reach 90% without a failure.

BTW, Upcoming RIM OS (6 possibly) will have Flash integrated into the OS and you can bet it’ll be secure … I’m happy that their upcoming webkit browser supports HTML5 though. For now I’m using Bolt as my main personal browsing experience.

  24. chamanbuga says:

Thanks for the kind comments, but it doesn’t change the fact that most mobile companies want to ditch Adobe, and fast. That’s why the latest Windows 7 phone does not support it either, though I think they may be including it later. It’s not like Flash is some revolutionary feature which nobody has figured out how to include. Bottom line is it’s a crappy technology with more security threats than anyone cares to protect. See latest attacks on gmail from china through adobe. Flash will not last.

  25. Saleen4971 says:

@chamanbuga you’re kind of an idiot. RIM is working with adobe to get full real flash support. as are other companies. flash is coming.

app development stemming form lack of flash? really? lol.
